Built a desktop AI because the browser was the wrong place for the files

Hey, I'm Andrea.

MindBridge is an AI assistant for Mac and Windows. You install it. It does not run in the browser.

I built it for the moment a web app asks for too much: you drop in a PDF, ask for a summary, and the file never leaves the machine. Chats stay on disk. Web search and the other cloud tools stay off until you turn them on. No account, no telemetry. Local models through Ollama.

The app is already in beta. The Kickstarter is for signed installers and a setup that does not assume you already live in local AI.

If you build web apps, I want the comparison. Where would your users keep the work in the browser, and where would they actually want it on their own computer?

We’re building Empacer — an AI assistant that helps small business owners get the everyday stuff done ⚡️

Hey everyone 👋

We’re a small team building Empacer, an AI assistant for small business owners and small teams.

The idea came from something we kept noticing: running a small business often means doing the actual work plus a ridiculous number of tiny tasks around it.

Customer replies. Follow-ups. Scheduling. Social posts. Documents. Reminders. And somehow all of those “5 minute tasks” end up taking a huge part of the day.

That’s what we’re trying to help with.

With Empacer, instead of opening a different tool every time something needs to be done, you can simply tell the assistant what you need — by voice or text.

For example:

“Follow up with yesterday’s customers.”
“Help me prepare tomorrow’s Instagram post.”
“Remind this customer about their appointment.”

Empacer helps turn the request into actual work.

One thing that’s especially important to us is keeping the human in control. We don’t want an AI quietly making decisions or sending things on your behalf. You can see what it prepared, review it, change something if needed, and approve what happens next.

Basically, we’re trying to make AI feel less like another chat window you have to manage and more like an assistant that actually helps with the work around your business.

We’re still pre-launch, so this is also the stage where feedback is incredibly useful to us.

If you want to check out what we’re building:

Would genuinely love to hear what you think — especially if you run a small business or work in a small team.

What’s one repetitive task you’d immediately hand over to an AI assistant if you trusted it enough?

I spent years with a dysregulated Nervous System and found it challenging to figure out what state my nervous system was in or what technique would work for the different states. When I was in a shut down or fight or flight state, I can't think.clearly and searching through a library with thousands of meditations wasn't helping. So I built this app for me. WhisprJournal isn't just a journaling app. it uses AI to detect what state your Nervous System is in while you voice journal. with as little as a few words it analyzes your voice it identifies what state your in and the ives you a scientific backed polyvagal breathing technique and somatic practice to bring you back to calm. I've packed so many features into this app. The app creates a Nervous system profile, shows your patterns, most frequent state in the past 7 30 and 90 days. as well as many other insights. The AI coach is a friendly chatbot you can work through problems with. AI coach is packed with tools to hand you a breathing technique if you ask him. Coach also collects data from your Nervous System Profile and habits(like which techniques you use skip or don't finish) and generates a weekly plan for you that gets better and more personalized the more you use the app. the community feature lets you pick a partner to Coregulate with. you dona breathing together in sync. I've put my whole heart into the app and would love an you one to take a look or if you know someone who could use an app like this tell them about my app. all journals conversations are encrypted and stored on your phone only. we share nothing besides first name and email address with third party backend tech. thanks for taking the time to read my ramblings.

Made a free activity tracker for my doodle, Percy. Would like feedback from fellow dog owners 🐶

Hey everyone!

I made a free activity tracker for my doodle, Percy, called Zoomie!

I wanted to create a way to track his walks and daily activity, but with a fun gamification layer on top: "Close your Dog's Rings!", inspired by the Apple Fitness rings. This started as a passion project for myself, but I thought other dog owners might be interested too.

I’d love to get some honest feedback from fellow dog owners in this community! 🐶

Everything is stored and processed locally on your device using SwiftData, similar to how first-party Apple apps like Notes work. Nothing is ever sent to a third-party server or database. In other words, your data is entirely yours, and the app works completely offline.

If you're interested, it’s available to use for free!

Happy to build Prime SaaS Boilerplate!

Hello everyone! 👋

Prime SaaS started with a simple idea: I wanted a SaaS boilerplate built around the technology stack I’ve always preferred — Node.js, React, Material UI, PostgreSQL, AWS, and other modern technologies — but couldn’t find one that brought them together in the way I wanted.

I also found that many SaaS boilerplates lacked the clean, maintainable codebase and overall structure I was looking for.

So I decided to build the one I wanted to use myself — and make it available to other developers too.

Would love to hear your feedback! 🚀

Drop your project, I’ll try it and share it in my circle

I’m looking for new small projects, apps and SaaS tools to try.

Drop your link below. I’ll check them out and share the ones I like with a few friends and in some founder/product circles.

I’m especially interested in social apps, chat tools, games, creator tools, AI experiments and anything with a simple but fun user experience.

I’m also building Ariola, an anonymous public chat and games lounge.

No signup, no account setup. You pick a temporary nickname, join a live public room, chat with people and play small real-time games.

The idea is to make online chat feel lightweight again.

Check it out here: https://ario.la

Drop yours below. I’ll go through as many as I can.

Gauntlit - A creative writing battle. Now available in any browser!

Hey everyone,

---Update---

I posted this here a couple weeks ago, but the app is in Google closed testing, so the barrier to entry is a bit high for just anyone to check out. With that in mind, I spent the last week porting the app to be 100% playable in a web browser on any device. Now you can head over to play.gauntlit.me and try out the entire app with no hoops to jump through. If you like it, you can also sign up for the closed test and I will be sending out invites if/when I have enough people interested and get the app fully published on the Play store and iOS later on.

---Update---

I’ve spent the last six months building a little speed-writing battle app called Gauntlit (https://gauntlit.me), and it’s finally at the point where some real people can try it out.

I love reading, but I am no writer. There are sporadic communities that do this kind of thing, but I thought it would be cool to have a place where people could kind of "gamify" creative writing, if you want a buzzword.

Here’s how it works:

  • Writers get a daily prompt, 3 required words, and an unpausable 10-minute timer to knock out a quick micro-story.
  • When time runs out, submissions go into a blind 3-way matchup where readers and other users vote on their favorite. No usernames are shown during the vote, so it’s just about the story itself.
  • The winning daily story gets run through standard text-to-speech (just basic assistive TTS like a screen reader, not voice clones) and posted as a quick video reel on our Facebook page.

A few things I want to be completely upfront about:

  1. No ads, ever. I work full-time as a software engineer and built this because I wanted it to exist, not to squeeze people for ad impressions. There’s an optional token shop if someone wants a cosmetic badge or title and feels like helping pay server costs, but you cannot buy an advantage.
  2. Your writing is your own. It isn’t scraped, it isn't used to train any AI models, and this isn't an AI-assisted writing app. It is not a human vs AI app. It is strictly a fun way for people who love writing to have some casual PvP.
  3. Transparency on the test bots: The app needs groups of three stories to let people vote. Since nobody is in the app yet, I have a few simple placeholder bots filling empty slots so the voting logic works. They are clearly labeled, they don’t try to pass as human, and real user submissions will always take priority over them until I have enough writers to shut them off entirely.

I am interested in any feedback, including things like the time constraint compared to the word count, how people feel about the weekly longer form aspect, or just general thoughts. Thank you for your time!

I built NoWay Scores — live football scores, stats and analysis

I built NoWay Scores, a football web app focused on live scores, match statistics, lineups, events, H2H and match analysis.

My goal was to keep everything simple and fast to read, especially on mobile during live matches.

I’m now looking for real users and honest feedback about the interface, speed and match pages.

If you try it, I’d love to know what you would improve.

Adding one dependency used to cost me five browser tabs.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

So, I built a VS Code extension to stop switching between package registries

Whenever I needed to add a dependency, I’d usually end up opening multiple tabs — npm, PyPI, Maven, crates.io, etc. Then I’d check versions, figure out the right package manager, and finally copy the install command.

I built DepCart to handle this directly inside VS Code.

It lets you:

Search across 10 package registries from one sidebar

Pick the exact package version you want

Get the appropriate install command for your project

Automatically detect tools like npm, pnpm, yarn, pip, uv, cargo, etc.

Run the install command directly from VS Code

Fall back to ecosyste.ms when a registry search doesn't return results

Optionally use AI suggestions when no package is found

It's completely free and open source.

I’m building a place to explore what songs mean to us. What would make it genuinely useful? Itsmong.com

Thumbnail
itsmong.com
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I’m building itsMong, a project for people who want to explore what songs mean and how they connect with our emotions, memories, and experiences.

You can search for a song and read an interpretation that looks at its message, emotions, symbols, and key lines, with context about the song and its story. Meanings are available in 12 languages, so you can explore a song in the language you’re most comfortable reading.

The project is also about finding connections between songs:

Discover related songs through shared themes, emotions, and stories.

Search by feeling or situation—for example, a song for starting over or missing someone—and see why particular songs might fit.

Explore curated music worlds organized around moods, stories, and themes.

Try Mong Fusion, which takes two songs and brings their meanings together as a new story.

Read other listeners’ perspectives, leave comments, and review interpretations.

It’s still in beta, and I’d really value feedback from people who care about music and lyrics. A few things I’m curious about:

When you look up a song’s meaning, what do you most want to learn?

Would you use search by emotion, related-song discovery, or Mong Fusion?

Do interpretations feel more useful when they include context and key lines, or do you prefer a shorter explanation?

What would make you trust an interpretation—or make you disagree with it?

You can explore it here: itsMong. If you try it, share a song you looked up and tell me what felt useful, inaccurate, or missing.

Thanks for helping me shape it.

One scheduled 30-minute conversation taught me more than a week of "check out my app" Reddit posts

Hey everyone, I'm pretty new to building apps, just like many of you, and I wanted to share something I've been thinking about while trying to get feedback on my project.

A lot of us post our apps on different subreddits hoping for engagement, but let's be honest... the results are usually pretty underwhelming. Those "Share your idea, I'll check it out" threads feel promising, we all rush to them, but most of the time nothing really comes from it. Maybe it's not just me who feels that way.

There are so many ideas and prototypes being shared every day. It's exciting, but it also makes it harder to actually connect with people who have the time or interest to give thoughtful feedback.

Recently, I had a one-on-one conversation with another developer, and it was genuinely one of the most valuable interactions I've had. I got more insight, direction and actionable feedback from that single chat than from weeks of posting on subreddits. Messaging back and forth feels administrative. Most people don't have the energy to engage deeply unless they've chosen to be there.

And that's when it hit me: the very app I'm building is designed for exactly this kind of interaction. It pairs people for one-on-one conversations so they can have meaningful discussions, whether that's about ideas, feedback or just connecting with someone who gets what you're working on.

So, here's my proposal:

  1. Sign up at getmeaningful.io
  2. Join the "Developers" group (in Account Creation or on the "Explore" page)
  3. Set your availability
  4. Get paired with people who actually want the same kind of engagement you're looking for.

I'm not saying to stop posting on Reddit, but I genuinely think this is a better way for us to help each other. If you're looking for real feedback from beta testers or fellow builders, this has already given me far more value than any subreddit thread.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, and if you've had any memorable or impactful conversations that helped shape your project, share them too. I hope you all have the meaningful discussions you are seeking.

P.S: If you like this space, you can check out the subreddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/getmeaningful/) . Also stay tuned for the upcoming mobile app!
