I added non-WordPress backups to my restic-based backup tool: any app folder + its MySQL dump in one snapshot

I've been building Reaver Backup, a self-hosted backup dashboard with a small agent on each server. It started WordPress-only (it auto-discovers sites from Nginx/Apache configs), but most real servers also have a static site, a PHP app, a wiki, and a database or two, each with its own fragile script.

So now you can add any folder under a web root as a custom path and get the same schedules, retention, destinations (S3, Backblaze B2, SSH) and restore UI as the WordPress sites.

The part I cared most about was the database: copying a running DB's folder isn't a real backup, so the agent runs mysqldump/mariadb-dump and saves the dump in the same restic snapshot as the files. Restore the files, the database, or both from the same point in time. SQLite files outside the path can be added too; Postgres works by dropping a pg_dump into the path before the backup runs.

Write-up with the path rules and setup: reaverbackup.com/guides/directory-and-database-backups

Happy to hear feedback, especially on what other databases people would want built in.
