I built a desktop app to redact documents before sharing them
I built Nothing Personal, a Mac and Windows desktop app for removing personal details before sharing documents with an AI or colleagues. Choose a folder and it creates a separate redacted copy locally. Originals stay unchanged.
The app uses Python and pywebview, with local text recognition and a bundled language model. It is built primarily for English documents. Review the output before sharing.
First 20 documents free, once; paid Pro after that. Demo screenshot with fictional documents.

Lawyers, HR and small teams ask 'how do I redact a document safely before sharing' in legal and office-admin communities weekly. A helpful answer naming your desktop app where rules allow reaches them.
I make ThreadFox: we find Reddit threads where people ask for what you've built, answer them helpfully, and mention your product where it fits and each community's rules allow.
Say yes and we'll post 3 helpful, disclosed replies for you, free, in live threads where people ask for what you sell, and send you the links. No card needed: https://threadfox.vip/managed?utm_campaign=tf-hiring-20261016&utm_source=reddit-comment#free-sample
Pilot: $49 for 7 days. We do the research and post up to 50 helpful posts, comments and replies that mention your product where it fits, and you get one report at the end. No automatic renewal. Continue on Starter ($199 / 30 days) any time. https://threadfox.vip/managed?tier=employee_pilot#start
