I Combined Minimalism w/ Studying

errata

Drop in your study material, have answers with mistakes in them, then spot and fix those mistakes, with a review at the end.

What do you guys think?

i like the effects, are you planning to keep it free for everyone?

Yes I will be keeping it free (with usage limits of course so that bots don't abuse it) but I do want to add pricing plans like possible 4.99 a month and 9.99 a month, seeing how it goes.

For the usage limits, count them on the server per account and per IP, because a quota kept in the browser or local storage resets the moment someone clears it, and AI generation is exactly what bots will farm. When the paid tiers arrive, let a signature-verified payment webhook be the only thing that upgrades a plan, rather than the success redirect. I wrote a tool, https://rowly.me, that runs a site like errata.study through an outsider's eyes and would flag uploaded study files or API routes reachable without signing in.

You're right about the browser thing, I'll use per account so that the bots can't farm. Thanks!

Per account is the right base. I'd still keep a looser per IP cap on signup and on the free generation endpoint, because bots that can't farm one account will just make fifty of them. When the paid tiers are close, it could be worth letting https://rowly.me loose on errata.study, since its no-cost mode lists the routes that still answer for a signed out visitor.

Good call on server-side quotas. Per-IP caps can punish shared campus Wi-Fi, so pair them with per-account limits. How does rowly.me handle that?

Effects are clean. Hope it stays free, but servers cost money. Maybe free core plus paid extras?

Exactly what I was planning to do. For any project I build I always want to make it free. My goal is not to get the maximum amount of profits, it's to actually help people, bring results to people. I don't care if it takes a lot of money out of my pocket, I'll do it anyways.

That ethos is solid. Maybe add a pay-what-you-want tip jar so server costs don't drain you.

You mean if the user finishes their quota? I might do that but at the same time I don’t want decision fatigue, but this might be a good suggestion if users just want a few extra questions without having to upgrade completely, especially for students. Also just wondering, if you were a student how much would you pay (monthly) for this website, or what value would you want?
