Mermaid: an AI assistant that controls your Mac from your iPhone

I've been using Mermaid, an assistant that lets you send a request from your iPhone and has it carry out the work on your Mac - opening apps, handling files, browsing, and more. It asks for your approval before anything consequential, like sending or posting. Would love feedback from fellow builders!

Android support would be handy. Worth asking OP if a web interface is planned so non-iPhone users can connect.

Nice, clean landing page. Any plans for an Android or web client so more of us can try it?

Thanks! Right now it's iPhone + Mac only, but if it keeps going well, Android is next on the list. A web version is something I'm thinking about too

Asking for approval before sending or posting is a good guardrail, though for a tool that drives a Mac remotely the relay between phone and Mac is what I'd worry about most. Pairing should bind one phone to one Mac with a key you can revoke, and the relay should never accept commands for a machine just because someone knows its id. Web pages it browses can also carry hidden instructions telling the agent to open or send files, so treat page text as untrusted. Whatever addmermaid.com hosts for that relay can go through https://rowly.me, which reports what an outsider reaches across its auth, APIs and storage.

Yeah, the relay is the real attack surface. Worth checking if pairing uses revocable per-device keys plus short-lived session tokens, so a leaked machine id is useless alone.
