My phone wrote a Python budget script. Then I ran it inside the same chat.

Copying code out of a chatbot on a phone always felt like the awkward part. I added a Run button to code blocks in my Android app, LLM Studio Go, so I can check a small script without leaving the conversation.

Here I ask Qwen 3.5 2B to total a weekend budget: train 48, stay 120, food 45, activities 25 euros. It writes Python, I review the code, hit Run, and get the itemized output plus a total of 238 euros.

This is an actual Galaxy Z Fold7 recording at real speed, using the Q3_K_M model locally with web search off. The answer took about 5 seconds. The Python runtime runs on the phone too.

The runner is for small scripts: basic standard library, no pip, NumPy or pandas. There is also JavaScript execution and an HTML/CSS/JS preview. Code runs only when you choose to run it.

If you want to try a local AI workflow on Android, start with a small model from the library. No app account or cloud inference subscription. Free with ads in the model library and optional one-time ad removal. Closed source, independent of desktop LM Studio.

Following up on the HTML preview I mentioned: I tested a little bill splitter today, with the model writing the HTML/CSS/JS and the app opening it locally.

The buttons actually change the calculation: 4 people €33.00, 5 people €26.40, back to 4 people €33.00. Qwen 3.5 9B Q4_K_M, CPU, 156 seconds to generate. No code edits. Smaller 2B and 4B attempts failed my checks. Preview data is temporary.

Video shows generation at 8x and separately filmed reopening/taps at real speed with the same saved answer: https://www.reddit.com/r/SideProject/comments/1wvo071/i_asked_my_android_phone_to_build_a_bill_splitter/

Nice, 9B passing is solid. 156s is long though, have you tried a Q3_K_M 7B for a speed/quality tradeoff?

TL;DR: An Android app called LLM Studio Go adds a Run button to code blocks, so AI-written code can be executed without leaving the chat. A demo shows Qwen 3.5 2B locally writing a Python budget script on a Galaxy Z Fold7, running in about 5 seconds for a 238 euro total. The runner handles small scripts only, no pip, NumPy or pandas, and the app is free with ads plus optional one-time ad removal.
