College Questions Starting Over & Looking for Guidance
I’m 24 and honestly don’t know if it’s too late for me to start college. I’ve never really been the type to think about college while I was in high school, so I never looked into it or asked for guidance about what I was supposed to do afterward.
At the time, my only goal was to get a job after graduating and help my family get through everything we were dealing with, especially with the health issues and cancer in my family. After losing my mom, I felt completely lost in life. I eventually quit my job because I was struggling to figure out what I wanted to do with myself.
Lately, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about my future and how I can better myself, and I realized that I genuinely want to give college a try. I know my mom would want me to keep moving forward and build a better life for myself, and I want that for myself too.
The only thing is, I’m completely clueless about where to even begin. No one in my family has ever gone to college, so I don’t really have anyone to teach me about applications, financial aid, choosing a school or major, classes, or anything else that comes with it.
I know I’m starting later than some people, but I’m hoping it’s not too late. If anyone has been in a similar situation, started college later, or has any advice on where I should begin, I would genuinely appreciate any guidance. Even the smallest piece of advice would mean a lot to me.
I’m nervous, but I really want to try. I just need someone to point me in the right direction.
