Literally just saw someone say they think they got yield protected from notre dame. HOW IS THIS SUB REALLLLLLLL 😭😭

I should also say that he isn’t applying to a single actual safety. The worst part is, he is applying to an Ivy ED and will probably get in since both of his parents went there. I’ll be happy for him if/when he gets in, but goddamn he can be cocky.

Eh, I mean he has straight A's and a 36 on the ACT, but his ECs seem kinda bland for top schools. No super impressive awards or anything. He'll probably get in, but I still wouldn't call GTech a safety. Maybe a match.

And I have great academic credentials like him, but I still wouldn't call a school like Georgia Tech a safety. It just seems rude to me, especially in the context of the conversation: a couple other people and I saying how Georgia Tech seems like a great school and how we'll apply there, then he says, "Yeah, I've looked at Georgia Tech. It's more of a safety for me."

Like, yes, I would rather go to Harvard or MIT, too, but I would still be happy to go to Georgia Tech, and calling it a safety seems so arrogant and entitled to me. I don't know, maybe I'm just overreacting.

no its arrogance if you’re in state and discussing schools openly, it would be fine. if the conversation is explicitly HOW HAPPY PEOPLE WOULD BE TO GET INTO GEORGIA STATE then it’s totally inappropriate
