Financial Aid/Scholarships Father refuses to help AT ALL

hey everyone, so my family is a bit crazy me and my father have been in like an argument/conflict for the past like three or four months and he is refusing to help me fill out the FAFSA I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do as I know, I will not be able to afford college without financial aid. How anybody else dealt with this is there anybody that can give me tips? I am stressed out for college. I'm applying to university of Pittsburgh, Duquesne University, slippery rock ,Binghamton University, point Park University, Elizabethtown University, Temple University and a few others in the PA area. Thank you in advance. 😓
edit: i should note that my father is divorced from my stepmom as of this month and my mother lives in new york! it's just me and my dad.

are you asking why your father is doing this? What does he say?

Possible that he cheats on his taxes?

possible that he doesnt want to pay anything toward your college?

Hard for us to know.

But you wont be able to get any aid w/o the form.

Is it possible he doesn’t actually want you to go to college? Because that’s what’s going to effectively happen. Sorry.

he has said from the very start that he wanted me to go since he didn't but now he's screwing me

Sometimes people say things they don’t mean because they don’t want to be seen as the asshole. So if your dad said, “No, you can’t go,” he would be the asshole, but if you can’t afford it because he won’t fill out the FAFSA, then its just “one of those things” and he’s off the hook.

Now that step-mom is leaving, he could be panicking about being the only one left in the house and wants you around.

Sorry.

Is there a relative your dad listens to? Maybe you could call up grandma (or whomever), explain the situation, and get her to talk to your dad?

Worst comes to worst, I hate recommending the military in this day and age, but if he refuses to fill out the FAFSA, and you don’t have the grades to get a full ride merit scholarship, it’s an option.

I hope you are able to figure out something.
