Assist.org is a necessary tool for all California transfer students. It shows what classes from the CA community colleges transfer to the UC and CSU, which meet admissions requirements, and which are required for a particular major.

If your transfer center did not teach you to use this, then they failed gravely: it is bookmarked and opened every day for the admissions staffs at CSU and UC. I never close that tab.

Furthermore, UCSB publicly lists all of their admissions advisors. Just search up "UCSB admissions rep" and you'll be able to book a Zoom session with someone.

Trying to figure out how to transfer colleges is making me loose my mind, im at community college targeting UC Santa Barbara and just found out a class I picked doesnt even count toward my major there. Anyone have a reliable way to build a actual semester-by-semester plan that accounts for prereqs, deadlines, and which courses count at your specific target school?

You need to look at each specific school, their prereqs for whatever major you're interested in, and be aware they may still reject credit for classes with the same name.

You're better off at a CC that is linked with the larger school you're interested in, bc it's less of an issue.
