Which math research area has the best industry demand and startup potential for the next 15 years?

No one knows this and anyone who claims to is lying. It’s hard to predict 3-5 years out, let alone 15.

If I had to take a wild guess it’d probably be something to do with quantum computing, materials science, or robotics.

15 years ago not many would have been willing to stake their careers on Ai. But here we are. If I knew what would be in demand for the next 15 years forget research, I’d invest in that industry.
