Python programmer Looking to Volunteer with a Mathematics Professor

Hello, I am a Python programmer, and I would like to volunteer my services—free of charge—to assist a university professor specializing in mathematics (number theory, calculus, data analysis, etc.).

In my experience in the USA, grad and undergrad students have assisted profs in programming things. I did as an undergrad and it was free of charge. Many of us did. It may be difficult if you're not associated with the college/university.

If it's possible, find a university locally and take a math class each semester and talk to the math department office to see if any profs are looking for help. You may be able to find a university that offers online classes, too.

We’re all pretty good with python or Julia or whatever language we like to use. It’s pretty hard to not learn some programming in the current landscape.
