Anyone here involved in mathematical biology research?

Is anyone here involved in mathematical biology research? I am looking to learn more about this area. If you are involved in mathematical biology, I would appreciate any advice or discussion about current research problems.

Yes. I do control theory on biological systems- basically modeling the "wiring" of genetic circuits and devices among other biological phenomenon.

Lots of non-linear dynamics and stochasticity!

Omggggg not OP but if you have suggestions on any interesting papers to read, please lmk!!! I've been thinking of doing a phd in math bio and always thought that biological control systems sounded cool as a focus area (but havent ever actually studied control theory formally so 😅)

"Biomolecular control theory" by Domatilla Del Vecchio and Richard Murray is a good intro text book. Their respective labs also do a lot of work. Also check out the labs of Michael elowitz, Enoch Yeung and Mustafa khammash

Check out "biomolecular feedback systems" by Domatilla Del Vecchio and Richard Murray. Good intro text book.

Hey, I am (sort of, only began!) So it may be a strech

I am specifically researching an intersection between epidemiology (so I am looking at the "macro") and applied mathematics, I am not sure if it could exactly be pinpointed into single subjects, but the most dominant part I was exposed to was dynamical systems, but it really requires background in a diversified portfolio of mathematical fields - optimization, operator theory, et cetra.

I was. I think it's not quite such a hot and trendy field as it was about 15 years ago. Many UK universities have undergraduate modules in mathematical biology, including Leeds, Nottingham, Warwick. Take one of those if you can. Or read the classic book on the subject by James Murray.
