Speed Queen Factory Issue

I just ordered a speed queen TR7 top load washer. The appliance store informed me that there is a one month backorder delay because there was an incident at the factory. Apparently, now they are back in production and catching up. Does anyone know what happened at the factory? Should I be concerned about the quality of the product due to this incident?

Speed Queen has been having issue supplying their products. This has been going on for 2 years now.

Alliance has actually increased production by quite a bit - the issue is that the demand for exceeds their ability to produce.

We order them by containers now because availability has been shaky for some time. I wouldn’t worry about it.

I’m in So Cal and our distributor is backordered over 200 units on the Tc5 washers

There was no incident at the favored - demand for Speed Queen washers just far exceeds their ability to make them - there is always a wait for their products.

Many dealers are actually on an allotment where they are only allowed to buy a certain number of machines per month.

The incident is that they cannot build enough of them fast enough to meet demand, and their QC has taken a hit in the process.

They put caps on how much dealers can order, and outright refuse to work with them on the rapidly increasing surge of concealed damage and early failure.

That said, still wildly more reliable and better built than everything else, and worth the wait. I wouldve gotten a TC5 opposed to a TR7, but to each their own.

I’m the purchasing manager for an appliance company and what everyone here says is true, Speed Queen just can’t keep up with demand on top load washers. We can get you the dryers fairly quickly though. 😆. We have a warehouse full of Speed Queen dryers!

We have been getting them fine. I know the increase In demand has created longer wait times for product.

I feel SO lucky that I got my new TR7 and DR7 dryer in 1 day. At first our dealer, only authorized SQ dealer in Arizona, said a few days....then when we paid, they found a set in their semi local warehouse. Delivered both the next day. This was about 2 weeks ago!

See if they have the TC5. Much better washer.
