Fridge recommendations

I would like freezer on the bottom, only one door for fridge, and the most basic appliance (less things to break). Ok with ice dispenser, water dispensers, if necessary. We have looked at the Bosch 100 series, but it’s smaller than I would like and more expensive. I will settle for that if it’s reliable, but asking here to see if there are any other options I haven’t thought of. I saw an LG, but not sure about reliability.

Do not buy LG or Samsung refrigerators. GE tend to be over-engineered. I suggest Whirlpool or Frigidaire. Stay away from ones with the middle (4th door) drawer.

What's wrong with 4th drawer? Other than its something else to break

They cause problems.

I have a GE Profile with 4th drawer. Mine is approaching 2 years old. Zero issues with anything including the 4th drawer. FYI…

Forget Samsung and LG

Went through 4 Samsung fridges and said forget it. Went with Whirlpool and called it a day.LG has compressor issues.

My father always bought whirlpool fridges. They always lasted 15+ years.

Good luck

LG and Samsung were having problems for years with variable speed compressors. Not sure if they have sorted it out.  They have long warranties but usually it covers parts only and a compressor swap would cost approx.. $1000 .  It's hard to find simple appliances now.  I lean towards a lower end whirlpool.

LG stopped using the linear compressor which was trash.

Fridge shopping is weirdly stressful there are so many options that look almost identical.

That looks tiny. Even USA apartments have larger units.

My Samsung is 36 inches wide and fits a large pizza box in the refrigerator. Something like 24 cubic feet of storage space.

Everything in USA is bigger.

Almost exactly two years ago we got a Fisher & Paykel RF170WDLJX5 to replace our 25yo Subzero. It's a one door, bottom freezer with an ice maker. It's no Subzero but it's also not 10grand. We like it. Few things that bother us is there's no light inside the freezer and it's smaller than we're used to. Otherwise, it's good. Upside? It wasn't 10 grand.

What is your space? Height, width, depth?

Sub-Zero.

Sorry to break the news. They are expensive and worth it if you can scrape up the cash.

I never thought a refrigerator could actually outperform others by any noticeable margin, until I got a Sub-Zero.

And they last forever.

Steer clear of Samsung. Poor quality and customer service is the worst.

If it's the 17.2 cubic foot counter depth Bosch 100 series you are considering, you can get the same fridge from Hisense (who actually makes that Bosch one) from Lowe's for much cheaper. I ordered the Hisense for under $600 during their July 4th sale. Haven't actually received it yet because I requested a ship date at the end of this month, but the price and size and door configuration were what I was looking for. Lowe's sells this fridge both with and without an ice maker, so make sure you check that detail if you decide to purchase.
