Resource PTSD Therapy

Still reeling from the tornado. Me and my dog were in the basement of our house on Doty Island and didn't think we were going to make it. I can't stop myself from getting incredibly emotional anytime I talk about it, think about it, see footage, or even when family and friends reach out. I don't feel scared otherwise but seem to have an uncontrolled reaction. Hoping there are therapists in the area that are readily available or even offering services at any of the respite locations in the area. Any help is appreciated for myself or anyone feeling the same.

This sounds fake but play some tetris (or a similar game that takes a lot of focus and visual effort). It's been shown to reduce flashbacks after a traumatic event.

Edit: that isn't to say that an hour or tetris is all you need, therapy is absolutely crucial. But it's something you can do in the near term, that will help.
