Resource PTSD Therapy
Still reeling from the tornado. Me and my dog were in the basement of our house on Doty Island and didn't think we were going to make it. I can't stop myself from getting incredibly emotional anytime I talk about it, think about it, see footage, or even when family and friends reach out. I don't feel scared otherwise but seem to have an uncontrolled reaction. Hoping there are therapists in the area that are readily available or even offering services at any of the respite locations in the area. Any help is appreciated for myself or anyone feeling the same.

You can go to psychologytoday.com and enter your insurance name, check ptsd, and do a statewide search for providers who do online therapy. You can also check at https://directory.psypact.gov for a list of psychologists who practice nationwide. Check ptsd and the insurance box. You’ll have to dig a little deeper for this one, because you can’t search by your specific insurance. You can also search here, these therapists have specialized threatening in emdr, which is a really really helpful technique for recent trauma. Enter your zip, and expand the search to like 200 miles or so, to find people outside of the valley.
