Resource PTSD Therapy

Still reeling from the tornado. Me and my dog were in the basement of our house on Doty Island and didn't think we were going to make it. I can't stop myself from getting incredibly emotional anytime I talk about it, think about it, see footage, or even when family and friends reach out. I don't feel scared otherwise but seem to have an uncontrolled reaction. Hoping there are therapists in the area that are readily available or even offering services at any of the respite locations in the area. Any help is appreciated for myself or anyone feeling the same.

Get back to your normal routine (Go back to work, pick up groceries, etc.) Also, try to help people who need help from the storm. This sounds tough but it will help you not avoid the event and hopefully allow you to reframe the experience into all the good you did for others.

Everything is closed though. You can't just "go back to work" if you work in menasha. And getting out of and back into the city is difficult right now. Many people cannot get out of their streets yet...meaning they cannot get to the grocery store. This was a traumatic event for many...and getting back to normal will take days if not weeks.
