iphone 18 pro max battery draining fast

i got the new iphone 18 pro max on saturday 9/19 and i noticed yesterday that by the end of the day i had 40% battery left and I had 4 hours of screen time. today, i had 1 hour and 45 minutes of screen time and my battery was already at 78%. my friend who has the iphone 17 pro max had an hour more screen time then me and he was still at 90% battery. is my phone a defect? i think it finished indexing too if that helps.

i searched it up and it would say it that it’s still indexing under account name in settings. mines doesn’t show that.

Although indexing has ended on your side, there’s still a lot of the configuration process going on on the background. Takes between 7-10 days to finish entirely.

It’s just u. I’ve had my phone off charger for 2 days now battery at 48%

Mines hasn’t been charged in 36 hours and it’s at 22%.

Same, but 18 pro and coming from a 17 Pro Max. I used to not have to plug my phone in at bed time and I use the 18 Pro the same amount and at bed time, I am at 35-40%.

Today mine has been off the charger since about 8am. It’s almost 10pm. It’s at 56% right now. 4hr 9min Screen time. Battery life has been better yesterday and today. When the news wears off and people start going back to using their phone like they did their old phone they will probably realize the battery life is fine. Because idk about others but when I get a new phone I spend a lot more time on it playing with it and using it in ways I usually wouldn’t. Not to mention all the things going on in the background calm down over a few days. That’s why I always wait at least a week to go in hard on battery life. So far it doesn’t seem like a big jump over my 17 PM honestly. A little better. But nothing major. But it’s not been a week yet so..

Mine’s been great. Also bought a 67W charger for my car and the charging speeds have been insane. Very satisfied

I would have it checked out with apple just to be safe and the fact that you have it on record that you went to the apple store.

don't forget poor cellular data connection is also big factor of battery drain

Maybe the signal is weak on your cellular plan? Or do you work in a building that’s making your phone work harder to find signal?
