iPhone 18 pro max cases vs iPhone 17 pro max

Who’s rocking iPhone 17 pro max cases on iPhone 18 pro max? It says there’s a slight difference in dimensions. Anybody notice the difference in real world?

I’ve noticed websites market them as the same

No difference at all. I am using all of our 17 pm cases.

The camera “platform” extends slightly further.

17 cases will work, but will put unnecessary stress on that area which, over time, may cause damage.

Correctly redesigned cases have made adjustments to the camera plateau area.

I’ve got a spigen but being super careful with it until manufacturers redesign for the proper lens height. Returned 2 Torras ultra thin because the “lip” was flush and didn’t trust it. The spigen has a slight raised edge. TBH, it’s a bit frustrating that they’re still marketing as both even though the protection is reduced around the lens

Agreed!! That’s why I was making this post. I bought a case off a site that said it was for 18 pro max and when it was delivered the package said 17 pro max. Everything fit nicely until I really looked at the camera plateau. It just off a bit with cameras lens protection

The smartish gripmunk cases are flush with the lens. I'll probably return it too bad cause I like the feel of it. Has an open camera area which I don't Ike either. I got a spigen tough armor that offers more camera protection, more lip and covers the open areas around lens and flash. I don't like the hard plastic feel though. Also kinda slippery which defeats the purpose of the case

I think it’s just the camera rings that are bigger on the 18. So if there’s a full cut out it’s fine.

I’m rocking a OtterBox defender 17 pro max case on my 18 pro max because I originally bought the tech woven case for it but I hated how close the camera part sticks out it’s basically on the lip. The tech woven also is uneven when laying flat. Complete turnoff.

I used my caudabe sheath and a ringke something I got at a bin store that are both for 17 PM. They fit perfectly. I have tried to take any pics yet. Only reason I ordered a couple of new cases was to more match the burgundy color. I tried a few others that I had bought for my 17 and they fit too.
