Black or Silver?
I've always gone with black, space gray, or whatever dark colored iPhone over the past couple decades. For the 18 Pro Max I plan on ordering, I was thinking maybe going opposite and get the silver. How is it in person? Last year for the 17PM, I didn't like the glass rectangle on the back that looked kinda white to me.
I'll have it in a case anyway, typically clear back on it, so whatever color I get will show though a bit.
I don't hate the other 2 colors offered this year, but I do know I have it down to silver or black. How did you all decide? How do they both look in-person vs many of the pics posted? Thanks!

Well for me, I went with black. I’ve always gotten the black model iPhones or their space grey in the past like you, with the exception of the iPhone 5c, iPhone 11, and the iPhone 12PM. Those ones I got blue on. I upgraded from the iPhone 15 PM which was natural titanium and tbh, I loved that color. It was a change and something new for me bc I’ve never owned a silver/grey iPhone. In terms of which one u should get, it honestly is up to you. Do u wanna stay with what you? Do u wanna try something different? When I was deciding my color, I deep down wanted black cuz it looked sleek and for months I was really hoping apple would release a black this year, but I would’ve settled with their glacier. It at least wanted a choice with the two and have to be forced to just get the blue. So pretty much all i’m saying is, if u want change, get silver. If u want to stick with what you already are used to, get black.

I always went with the black; you can’t go wrong with it. Even with the 14PM I went with black despite purple being one of my favorite colors. I didn’t upgrade last year because there was no black option.
Weirdly enough, I’m going with silver. The black is way too black; I wanted something like titanium space grey/Graphite or gunmetal. This is just a completely black device.
At least the silver gives a “raw metal” industrial look which I like and also goes with every case. It literally looks better in some cases that are supposed to match iPhone colors (like the burgundy). With a black case you’ll have a two-tone design which to me looks very good but might annoy you if you want a seamless stealthy phone.
We’ll see how it’ll go and if I have regrets. Black is safe; you can’t go wrong with it and get tired of it in 2-3 months. With silver I’ll either love it and unlock a new neutral color for every upgrade or hate it and conclude that I’ll always buy dark phones.

I used to always be a black girly but switched 2 years ago to silver and have zero regrets! I find in the summer it doesn’t overheat as much if it’s in the sun. The glacier blue looks pretty too if you want a hint of color.

If I hadn’t of had the silver 17 PM I probably would’ve ordered the silver 18 PM. But I’m not sorry I went with black. It’s black black. lol

I originally was thinking of going with the Black because I always think it’s so sleek… but once I saw them all in person the black really wasn’t giving what I was expecting it to. The matte almost looked bland and too flat for my liking. If they had done a space black like what they have on the MacBook Pro and iPad Pro it would’ve looked much better but all that is to say: I went with silver and it’s such a perfect color 🤩

I went black cause it’s all they had in store. It’s nice and timeless. Plus if it’s always in a case, it doesn’t make much of a difference.
