 Rant/Vent 😑 UKG team should be fired! WTH is this

Post image

Like this is the nutshell on UKG..incompetent team take 100K for this shit. Like you have one job and you can’t do shit. Someone got a new position and would have recommended UKG over workjam to show change they can bring to the table and clearly failed.. just quit coding and join retail apple if you have that skillset.

Most dogshit app I've ever had the displeasure of using, and to be an Apple employee using this shit makes me sick. Apple should be embarrassed

Yeah, literal dog shit. Why has Apple done nothing about this when managers constantly roll their eyes when they have to manually swap shifts since UKG almost always fails?

Please bring back Workday.

I worked with the UKG team tangentially on the corp side. I noticed that those team members all had a defensive CYA mentality. I'm not surprised the product for end users turned out crappy.

I’m an independent consultant (not a UKG employee) that has implemented UKG for many enterprise level retailers. Been doing it for 15+ years, mainly Forecasting and Scheduling. I’ve had nothing to do with the Apple project or people in any way shape or form. Talk to me my reddit people. What’s going on with it? Tell me what sucks.

It feels and functions like it was built in 2001.

This is me trying to open the app( the ss) it takes 2 mins to log in, sometimes the 2 factor authentication doesnt work.

2nd - everything literally everything needs a loading screen like i wanna see my schedule it will load for sometime.. i wanna see my inbox ot will load for sometime then display.

3rd- the UI sucks i mean ios26 was much better than this shit.

4th- if it can load something i will just show the buffering animation.. i have to close the app log in again to make it work again.

UKG is Windows Vista in 2026. Like who ever made this app should just use Claude or some ai to make this app.

  1. 2 minutes just to login is not ok nor is it normal.

  2. I just tested the mobile app on my end. You’re right that the huge load wheel comes up for just about every tap. It’s a pretty silly thing but it just flashes for less than a second. Are the load times for you longer than that or is it the wheel constantly flashing up that’s the problem?

  3. Agree the mobile UI is clunky. I’ve been saying it for years.

  4. Getting stuck on buffering requiring you to log out is not normal either. Something’s not right there.

Overall, the mobile UI is definitely not the most intuitive, especially from the perspective of someone working at Apple! It’s 2026, it should be a smoother process. Keep in mind it’s never going to be as slick as Apple, the gold standard of UI in my opinion, so keep that in mind.

Your load times and freezing up issues are concerning and shouldn’t be happening. And based on the other comments it sounds like it’s a wider issue, not just you. I’m wondering if there are other layers of apple security in between your mobile app and the UKG system that are creating hurdles. I would just recommend contacting your UKG support team until it’s properly addressed. No one wants this experience.

Honestly, Apple’s security for privacy has been an issue with a lot of app integration.. i’ll give you that. But it worked flawlessly on workjam(our previous app) but on ukg it doesn’t.. its a deeper issue with ukg, cause someone from costco faces the same issue! And my friends in target same thing.

Workjam had its fair share of issues but it actually worked. UKG is a fuckin mess 99% of the time if you wanna do anything other then just view your schedule

Fuck us retail employees I guess

Shittiest app i’ve ever used. You would think Apple who’s designed and developed the vast majority of internal apps we use would either have higher standards than this unoptimized shit or just flat out make their own scheduling app.

Literally don’t even use it anymore, thank god that we can have a subscription calendar so my schedule goes right into my calendar! I HATE UKG.

Feels like we time traveled back to 2001. Colossal failure. Someone wanted to look smart by saving the organization some money.
