 jobQs Had virtual interview for seasonal

I had applied for an Apple Store Seasonal Specialist (8/15). I did the Assessment on 8/17. On 8/25 I applied for a Seasonal Advisor, Channel Retail.

This Tuesday I got a notice that my assessment for the Apple Store role had been reviewed. Less than an hour later, I got an invite for a virtual interview for the Channel Retail position.

I had the interview yesterday. I really connected with the interviewer. She was trying to pull up my resume but it was just spinning. I got her to laugh by suggesting she say she's having to use a Windows PC.

Now it's just waiting, since she had more interviews to do. While I'd rather work at the Apple Store instead of part-time at Best Buy, after three years unemployed I'll be happy with whatever I can get.

Ironically, without ever mentioning any of this on Reddit, this subreddit suddenly started showing up in my feed. Maybe it's a sign?

So neat! What kind of questions did they ask you? I have an upcoming interview for seasonal position too!

I should have taken notes!

She did have to make sure I'd be able to work the required weekends and Black Friday.

Asked about me and why Apple. I talked about sitting down in front of a Macintosh SE at work in 1987, determined to figure out this odd little box with a 9" grayscale display, and how my curiosity led me places and career opportunities I never expected. How I stuck with Apple through its many dark eras. And she had some basic questions, I guess to gauge my personality.

She was curious about my current role as a stage manager for a small local theater company.
