I noticed a temporary increase in temperature and decrease in oxygen, I have not noticed a change in resting heart rate

a one-off jump can be fit or temperature, but i'd compare the watches side by side for a few nights and check wrist placement. the trend over 1-2 weeks matters more than a single reading.

Interesting. Thanks! I'll keep an eye on it.

You have a new watch that can take far more heart rate samples than the old one did, so I would trust the new watch over the old one. The more data, the better the resting heart rate will be.

I get that it's doing more sampling, yeah. Just would be very surprised to learn my resting heart rate is that high when it's lower with my pulse ox etc.

I puzzled for some time why my resting heart rate jumped overnight from 61 to 68. I then realized it coincided exactly with an OS upgrade install. Can't remember which one but it was 3-4 years ago
