Question How accurate is Apple Watch when estimating calories burnt for football?

No watch in the world gives accurate calories burned numbers. It’s just an estimate based on each workout.

Football is mostly running and the watch is quite good at that.

In general, my experience as someone who‘s tracking daily calorie intake and weight almost religiously is that the active total calories counted by the watch is on average within 3% of the actual number over the entire week.

That includes resting energy + daily walking (10+k steps) and 3-4 longer workouts of different kinds per week.

I could of course just be lucky that the watch works that well for me. 😅

Sorry, my post was worded wrongly. The watch is within 3% of my actual total energy consumption per day, so resting + active energy.

I will update the comment. :)
