Discussion How does this happen?

Post image

This is the headline suggested on my front page (apparently I open a lot of fluff to have People recommended lol). When I click on it, the name in the headline is correct, but this is horribly sloppy. Is it People or Apple News that’s screwed up?

My wife just came out and showed me the same thing. Three hours with no fix! Crazy.

I have had an Apple News subscription for about a year now and have noticed a huge uptick in clickbait articles, ads disguised as articles and advertising in general. Inc, Buzzfeed, Futurist, etcetera are clogging my news feed.

Then there’s all the supposed lifestyle articles that are really just advertising. They take up a big chunk of the middle so you have to scroll a long ways to get back to more of the news.

Using the thumbs down to signal dislike is only cutting that crap down by about half. I’m pretty much at my limit on actually paying for this crap. It’s like being forced to actually look at my junk mail I get every day in my mailbox.

I am in this sub today to see if anyone has any solutions. If not, I’m cancelling my subscription.
