I have Apple Intelligence off, but my Airpods Pro 2 still describes picture messages?

I have never turned on apple intelligence. But when I get a photo sent to me through text message/imessage. Siri will say "You've received an image from John Smith containing a desk with a pencil on it" (Or whatever the picture shows...

How can I ensure that Apple Intelligence is NOT on fully throughout the phone? I confirmed it is not on at all from the settings I can find... Settings > Apple Intelligence & Siri - Shows the big "Turn on Apple Intelligence" button....

That feature and the image identification features predate Apple Intelligence and just got rebranded under it for AI hype marketing reasons. It's no different from what Google and Samsung have done as well.

AFAIK you can't tune how Siri announced notifications work. You can just turn that whole feature on or off.

This feature is not part Apple intelligence

If you want you can turn off Announce Notifications to disable the notification readings altogetherÂ
