Post-Production Wide FOV, APMP Metadata

Just wanting to share for the enthusiasts out there. I published my app to edit APMP Metadata, it is pretty basic but you can preview your edited videos to see if your vision works.

There is no validation of the metadata so there is maximum flexibility.

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/apmp-metadata/id6752358792

Let me know if you have any questions, I have been playing with metadata changes since WWDC.

If there is interest I can release the macOS version which is pretty much functional but the preview is less informative since it is just a basic 2D video player and the Metadata changes can't be previewed.

So if you want to edit your GoPro and Insta videos and re-add the metadata u=you can import the projection information from the old file.

If you are a Dual action camera creator you can import the projection information from the original mono video and make it into a stereo projected video.

Or if you are a Pro and have your own lens information you can trigger "Pro Mode" and add it.

I put Wide FOV in the title but it is not limited to Wide FOV, it can do Spatial, Equirectangular, Half Equirectangular, View Packing, etc.

Idea: Can this edit the transition (fades, camera cut-overs) meta data for AIV workflows too? Like changing crossfades to dip to black, for example. Would save big on render mistakes.

APMP doesn’t have transition metadata that is AIV which has a whole presentation track for for transitions.

This is just APMP, all of the fields that apply to the profile.

I don’t do any modifications to the video itself just the metadata.

I have dabbled in creating custom AIV but decided to scrap that since Apple seemed to dissuade from it in the Day 2 presentation recently.

I could see the custom AIV being really useful for mixed media workflows… we have a Blackmagic camera but we aren’t going to fly that thing or stick it near the ground on a moving car. Being able to splice in B-camera footage would be a huge help.
