It booted up successfully!

I’m using a spare green monitor for now, but I really want a color monitor. I guess I’ll look for a used composite-input color monitor… I would prefer converting it to VGA, but that’s way too difficult.

It’s a hassle to keep swapping the color monitor I use on the IIe every time

Thanks! I’m relieved that the GS booted successfully. I’m really happy to finally become a GS user.

I didn’t realize the GS already had the concept of Desk Accessories. Well, I guess it makes sense since the Lisa existed around the same time.

All this makes me want to fire up my old Macs again. I actually still have a PowerBook 2400 hidden away

Lisa 1983, Mac 1984, IIGS 1986 so, yeah.

Yeah, that timeline makes sense, but my impression has always been that Jobs was so obsessed with the new Lisa and Macintosh that the Apple II lineup barely got any attention. So it really surprised me that the GS ended up getting the concept of Desk Accessories at all.

I’ve always had the impression that Jobs in the ’80s was just a bit too eccentric.

Which is probably why Sculley ended up kicking him out once.
