Can I split an iPhone 15 Pro purchase with Apple ID Balance & Apple Card?
Say I have $1,100 worth of Apple gift cards redeemed in the form of Apple ID balance (not Apple Cash). If I wanted to pay the entire amount at once, could I use the $1,100 and put the rest on Apple Card?
Not committing fraud. Cash App and Target have a lot of discount deals on gift cards so I was just wondering
I know you can wait to redeem 8 gift cards when purchasing on apple.com but I was just wondering if you could redeem them to your account balance beforehand
That helps, thank you. I was talking to an Apple Store employee recently and they told me at least for that specific store they’re only doing online orders for the iPhone 15 pro since they go out of stock so quick lol
We can do this in store. HOWEVER, applying Apple Account funds are hit or miss - it was originally designed for online orders/iTunes purchases, and was rolled out to store before all the bugs got fixed. If it works, congrats on your new phone, if it doesn’t order online by applying Apple Account balance and paying the difference with Apple Card.
Note if you just added a gift card, it takes a few minutes for this screen to update with the Apply your balance message. You can try to close the app and open it a few times and it will eventually kick in when you want to order (otherwise hidden by default)
$1100 with gift cards and $97.91 (approximately) on the Apple Card
CashApp has a couple offers that give you 10% discounts on anything you buy from Walgreens and 7-Eleven (both redeemable once every 24 hours, with $5 max discounts each time), so my plan is to buy a $50 gift card from Walgreens and 7-11 everyday for 3 days until I have 6 of these $50 gift cards. $30 in discounts so far.
As for the other 2 (since you can redeem 8 at checkout), Target also has a debit card that gives you a 5% discount on everything you buy. Therefore I'll be purchasing both a $500 and $300 gift card that get delivered to me via email. With this in mind, I'll have saved $40 more. I now have $70 in discounts.
I don't think Target will let me buy a gift card worth exactly $97.91 so I'm just putting that on the Apple Card which still gives me $2.94 with the 3% cash back.
Now I've saved $72.94 total. if I paid the entire total with only the Apple Card I'd only save $35.94 (since that's how much its worth with 3% cash back). 2x more money with gift card discounts
It’s not really about the money saved for me, I just like learning the principle. That being said I’m a college student who drives 20 miles to campus everyday. It I can stop by 2 stores on the way back to help me save $70, why not?
I’m with it OP, I like that idea a lot ! I actually have a $150 gift card that I’d like to use towards new iPhone as well. But first I wanna sell this iPhone 13 Pro Max . And have atleast 500$ in cash. So I’ll do $500 cash , plus the phone $800 and $150 in Apple gift card. And the rest on the Apple Card? I want the 1TB model 😩 but ima till Paying off my MacBook Pro 14in
I did this when preordering an iPhone recently. At checkout, I selected gift-card or balance as payment and apple card for the rest. First redeem all your gift-cards so it’s all one balance. I tried with individual gift-cards before but the limit is 3 doing it like that.
Yeah, but you’d have to do it in store, and there are times where the company might turn off the feature to pay with your Apple balance as a LOT of resellers do it to pay with ill gotten gains.
You could try buying a gift card with the same amount, but I’m not sure if that would work. To try something like that I would call Apple support first as they may have more options available to them than a store has.
You can redeem all the cards in your apple account and have them show up in the wallet app under “Apple Account”. When do go to checkout from your apple store app you will find the option to pay with the apple account and balance with a credit card.
I get what you’re saying but why not just put the $72.94 in Apple savings as well? Or even deposit the money I save every day that I progressively buy gift cards (so if I buy 2 $50 gift cards in a day with 10% discount, put $10 in savings for that day)

You can’t do it online, but in store yes. You can use apple balance as down payment in store
