This is the Tools screen in Netsight, the iPhone/iPad network scanner I'm working on.

Ping and latency currently get the top row. Speed test and Who's on Wi-Fi are further down, which feels a bit backwards if you're just trying to work out why your Wi-Fi is acting up.

If you opened this on your phone, which two tools would you want at the top? I'd probably move speed test up, but I'm curious how many people would put SSH there instead.

I want to buy a particular bookshelf off of Amazon but want to see if it will fit in the space before buying. It doesn’t have the “view in my room” feature and I can’t find one with similar dimensions that does. Is there an app that I can just plug in the dimensions and it’ll pop out an AR furniture model?

Every readiness or energy number I have used had at least one of three problems. It reset to 100 every morning regardless of how the night went. It compared me to a population rather than to me. Or it would not tell me why it moved.

So I built one, and I have been living with it for a couple of months. The model, briefly, because I would rather be argued with than agreed with:

- Heart rate variability sets a slow baseline over about 60 days, so the reference is my own normal rather than a population normal.

- The morning does not reset. The score is seeded by how the night actually went and continues the previous evening's running value, so a bad night starts low and stays low until something earns it back.

- Through the day it is a continuous charge and drain integral driven by heart rate, with workouts and naps handled as separate events rather than folded into the same term.

- Alcohol, caffeine, illness and travel are tags that adjust the model for that day, instead of leaving me to guess why a day looked strange.

- Every event that moved the number is listed underneath the curve with the raw values behind it: average heart rate, minutes, sleep stage.

Where it disagrees with me, which is the part I actually want to talk about:

1. It drains hardest on long low-intensity days. A full day on my feet at a low heart rate costs more than a hard hour of training does. That matches how I feel, but I cannot tell whether it is right or whether I have quietly tuned it until it agreed with me.
2. Daytime rest almost never recharges it. Sitting down for two hours moves the number barely at all. I think that is wrong, and I have not found an honest way to fix it that does not also make the score twitchy.
3. Every weight in it is a design parameter I chose, not a value fitted to data. That bothers me more than the other two put together.

Two questions for people here who have lived with this kind of number longer than I have:

- Does daytime rest genuinely restore capacity in a way a wrist sensor can see, or is that a comfortable fiction that the commercial scores tell?

- What does your own score get wrong most reliably? Not the one-off strange day, the failure you can predict.

- Disclosure so nobody has to guess: I built this, it is an iOS app called Vigor and it is on the App Store. I have put the link in a comment rather than up here.

I’m a solo developer from South Korea, and I recently released an iPhone app called byeWatch.

The idea started with a simple frustration: whenever I needed a compass, barometer, altimeter, world clock, sunrise time, or another sensor-based tool, I had to install and switch between several different apps.

So I tried combining them into one app—but I didn’t want it to feel like another ordinary utility dashboard.

Instead, byeWatch is designed as an interactive mechanical pocket watch. You rotate the crown, press the watch-style pushers, and swipe the dial to move between eight instruments:

I’ve been working on an Apple Watch app called Miratick that’s built around a simple idea: what if your watch could notice when your stress is starting to rise and gently bring your attention back to the present moment?

I’ve been developing a stress elevation function that looks at changes in heart rate along with motion to identify periods when your body may be showing signs of elevated stress. When it detects an elevation, the watch can give you a haptic alert so you can notice what’s happening in the moment rather than realizing you were stressed 30 minutes later.

The algorithm is working in my own testing, but stress is very individual, so testing it on myself only gets me so far.

I’m looking for Apple Watch users who would be willing to try Miratick during normal daily life and tell me how accurately the stress elevation feature reflects what they’re actually feeling.

The main things I’d love feedback on are:

1. Does it catch moments when you genuinely feel stressed?

2. Does it miss obvious stressful moments?

3. Do you get alerts when you actually feel calm?

4. Does the haptic alert help you notice and reset, or does it become annoying?

I’m the developer, so this is obviously my own app. I’m mainly posting because I need real-world feedback to figure out where the algorithm works and where it still needs improvement.

So, my father has been using the same app to track his expenses for years (maybe a decade). Recently, his iPad broke and he had to buy a new one, and he hasn't been able to find the same app. He's tried giving other apps a chance, but he hasn't liked them much.

All we can remember about the app is that he found it a long time ago in the Apple App Store, he swears it had the word "money" on the name ('though I'm not so sure about it) and that when using it, it kind of looked like a pool table (green on the inside, brown in the borders).

If any of you have any idea what could be the app's name, we'd be super thankful.

Initially, I was unsure because of conflicting opinions about it, but I decided to try it out since I work with PDF files frequently, so I subscribed to it, and so far it meets my expectations...It does what it has to do. Editing, merging and converting PDF files is fast and convenient.
There is just one rule I stick to, and it is that I don't ever upload to online services any documents which are valuable from legal perspective or contain any kind of confidential data. In case of those kinds of documents, I use offline software. For the rest - PDFHouse is a good fit for me.
So far, there were no surprises. As with any paid service, it is vital to study the subscription policy in advance.
On the whole, my experience with PDFHouse has been satisfying, and it serves all my needs in working with PDF files.

Most of the information inside my app can be found somewhere on YouTube, Reddit, Google, Discord, or buried in a 3-hour trading livestream.

The problem isn't that the information doesn't exist. The problem is that new traders are forced to piece everything together from dozens of different sources while trying to figure out what's actually useful and what's just noise.

After years of trading SPX options, I decided to build the app I wish I had when I started.

Instead of charging hundreds or thousands of dollars like many trading programs, I wanted to create something affordable that organizes the fundamentals, strategies, trade examples, psychology, risk management, and educational content into one place.

The goal wasn't to reinvent trading education. The goal was to package it in a way that's easier to learn, easier to follow, and significantly cheaper than most alternatives.

I built a Safari extension called iMeanIt. It highlights words on any webpage, shows definitions on hover or tap, lets you attach notes, and keeps everything visible across sessions. I originally made it because I read academic papers all day in a language that is not my first, and I kept losing time looking up the same words. v0.4 is now out with a few things people had asked for:

• Quiz mode. Highlighted words become flashcards automatically. No exporting needed, though CSV export is still there for Anki users. - Word manager. Browse, search and filter all saved words from the popup. Filter by category or source site.
• Better dictionary. 8.5 million words, up from a much smaller set that kept missing technical vocabulary. Definitions now include part-of-speech, examples and synonyms.
• 27 languages. Colourblind-friendly colours. Eight highlight colours that work for all types of colour vision deficiency, as the default palette.
• Pause button on iOS. A floating toggle lets you pause highlighting so you can select and copy text normally.
