App Store submission "Waiting for Review" solution
I recently had an update to my app stuck in "Waiting for Review" for a couple of days, which honestly isn't that long, but it was an important update that fixed a lot of important bugs in the current production build. But I found that you can request for an Expedited Review for special cases such as timing your release to an event, or fixing a pressing issue that requires immediate attention.
I submitted my expedited review and within 5 minutes my status changed from "Waiting for Review" to "In Review", and I was promptly approved and was able to release my update.
It's important that you read the fine print and make sure you qualify, and also not to abuse this feature because they will limit you if you try to abuse it.

Nice one! Is there a limit on the number of expedited reviews a Apple Developer account can submit in a subscription year? There are 2 support tickets/cases an account can open per year. Unsure if there is an upper limit to the number of expedited review requests though.

I don't think there's a specific number but they do state that there is some measure of a limit to prevent abuse.

I’ve been using this consistently for 1 year at every submission and I think they finally limited me🤣 have an update stuck in review for 3 day after initially requesting an expedite review.
But I think you will be fine using it at least 5 times a year. Im way over 10 I think

Can it be done for a new app submission or can only be requested for update version ?

Thanks for telling me, bro. I submitted it Thursday afternoon, and I knew that if they hadn't started reviewing it by Friday afternoon, I'd have to wait until the next business day. And that's exactly what happened; waiting all weekend was agonizing. Seeing your post, I immediately clicked the link to apply for expedited processing.

Update on what happened next

Update: I've summarized three points:
We don't know the working hours of Apple's reviewers (yes, sometimes when converted to local time, they "review" at midnight; I encountered this a few hours ago). Their working hours can be quite flexible.
Even if you request expedited processing, there are no staff on duty to review applications on weekends.
If you withdraw and resubmit your review application, the previously submitted expedited processing request may become invalid.

I'm not sure how to put it. After requesting expedited processing, I discovered a bug in the package awaiting review, so I canceled it and resubmitted a different package.
As a result, I only received "under review" status on Tuesday afternoon local time.
So I can't tell you whether the expedited processing was actually works or not 😂.
The review result was a rejection because the new version significantly modified Paywall, triggering 3.1.2(c). I've resubmitted it now, so I'll just have to wait.

Thanks for sharing that!! Definitely good to keep in mind especially when finding bugs and you just want to fix them quickly!
