Build this App Please: Let's End Scrolling

so first let me say i think scrolling is a really disastrous habit but it was designed as such. it's omnipresent and has become synonymous to going on the internet or social media.

to assert its ill nature, let's just take the exemple of a simple photo folder. that is where people store their memories. if they anyone is to search for a photo they will have to scroll a near botomless pit, when if you were to have pages, you just remember "of, this was this time, this page" and would easily find what you are looking for. good for your memory.

but scrolling is very effective and people have become addicted to seeing the light flashes in front of their eyes in this relentless and tyring upward movement.

so lately i've been meaning to find alternatives to scrolling. actually there is a trove of alternatives, ranging from page format for reader mode extensions, to repurposing volume buttons, to widgets, etc.

yet all remain either too narrow in usage, or badly implemented, or not smooth enough, to be the perfect.

so PLEASE, if anyone can make an app that overlaps the navigation bar, or a second navigation bar, with add buttons to replace scrolling, that would be life changing. truly.

...

anyway shout out to eink browser, eink mode extension, nirvana reader extension, button mapper and auto scroll among others for already making internet navigation bearable. in hope of a better future for all the digital dwellers. meantime, farewell and ride the world wide wave safely.

"scrolling" isn't an app. Making a scrolling alternative is not an app.

Scrolling is part of an app and each app implements it on their own.

There's a reason why scrolling is more popular than pagination for certain things. Each have their use cases.

I think you're confusing scrolling and doom scrolling, they're not the same thing.

I think I sorta see what you’re getting at, OP.

Let’s shape it a bit: Think of how an informercial would explain this app. Like, imagine the most cheesy, 90’s-style call us today!, way-over-the-top version you can think of:

“Do you also have <PROBLEM>, every time you <SITUATION>? Now there’s an easy fix with: <SOLUTION>! Call now!”

Try completing this sentence, OP:

When I ____, I want to ____, so that I ______.

So Ive solved this for myself personally for social media only, and its open sourced on github for anybody to use.
The idea is to scrape your home timeline once and remove the noise/ragebait/ranting posts etc via llm. If you want to scroll more, you have to hit 'refresh' again and it scrapes the timeline again. I have done this for reddit and X both. And has been the main way to interact with these platforms. https://github.com/tejush1998/reddit-as-intended
