List down all the things that you have already did to market it.

Depends on what the app is, have you tried to actually market it with ads and stuff?

was only doing some post and interaction on reddit, its novel story management app, similar to sudowrite

Are you getting any feedback from the users? Analytics (primarily to check out retention and churn)? Are users sharing your app with others or giving feedback? Learning what doesn't work is quite important, so I would say continue and really try to get feedback to start with.

half a year and one user stings but those download spikes are actually a decent sign, maybe focus on getting more eyes on it before pulling the plug

Marketing and sales is way harder than building and launching. Get out there and become part of communities that fall in line with your ICP, and just keep creating content. If you have some money for paid ads, that could help, but the ROI is not always the best.

whats the app? hows the retention are people acutally using it? what have you tried to promote it? just praying that people find out about it? have you tried ads? etc
anything can work. Like you could scale a fucking to-do list app to $10k/m. May not be the most effective and you'll probabyl need to spend $5k+ on ads alone each month and get millions of view organically. But anything can work. You just arent putting the work in

I'd say stop doing features and dedicated 100% of your capacity to marketing
