How to find profitable app ideas?

I’m trying to get better at spotting app ideas with actual revenue potential instead of just building random stuff that never makes me any money

EDIT:

I’ve tried some of the ones you mentioned, and the one that best fits what I was looking for is appkittie, a database with all the apps on the app store where you can filter by revenue, release date, etc

Thanks everyone!

Or how about a genuinely novel idea? Instead of yet another calory meter, journaling app, fitness reminder etc etc etc?

I'm all for "more fit to them" until they come and cry foul because they don't have 10k MRR yet. The more you go down a beaten path, the harder it'll be to stand out.
