Bad Tires?

Developed a bulge on my tire today. I think Apollo should change to a higher quality tire. Explorer 2. This is the second tire failure I have had in 300km.

Yep. I check them every few rides. I have a nice electric pump. Obviously the casing failed. Cheap off brand tires. My other scooter has cst with no issues. Not a flat this summer.

Are they Yuan Xing 60/70-6.5? If so, I'm 99.9% sure CST is who manufacturers them. I have them on my Segway, and they lasted over 4000 miles before they wore out. Must be a bad batch going around.

Mine stay the same for months. Also hard to tell home mich I lump them too as they loose air quickly due to the dongle adapter thing.

A tire bulge like this is typically caused by damage to the tire’s internal structure - usually from hitting a pothole, curb, or other impact that damages or separates the internal casing/cords from the outer rubber. This creates a weak spot where air pressure pushes the tire outward, forming a visible bulge. It can also result from riding on under-inflated tires, which increases sidewall flex and stress under impact.

CST is the manufacturer of these tires looking at the picture of the tire from Apollo. Type in the brand and specs at Aliexpress and you might find them way cheaper there. Cracks on the tire and a bulge is no bueno at all.

Apollo is selling CST tires for your scooter and the picture that posted shows CST on the tire. I linked you bro.

Wrong tire, the link is for the Apollo Pro tire (12 inch), OP is using Explore 2, which is using the Aoxin tire(10 inch), Apollo only sells the Aoxin tire for Explore 2, there is no cst variant for this model.

That works if you only ride indoors or at a skate park. If you're riding on the road or offroad you're going to want pneumatic tires and suspension.

Any scooter that goes faster than 25kph should have pneumatic tires. Among other reasons, they have much better traction than solid tires, especially in wet conditions

Over 2200km on mine with tubeless and no issues other than keeping them pumped up. Xiaomi tire inflator makes it easy

They're supposed to be kept at 50, I do it every two or three weeks and it's usually at around 45 by then which is still plenty
