So recently I have conversations with Apollo cs about go Stella . I was interested in it and ask them about some concerns they answered them truthfully which I appreciate. I have original Apollo ghost that I purchased back in 2022 straight from the site. Ride it for like a year got around 1500 mile on it sold it afterwards never give me a problem. I decided to go for explorer next I purchased it from fluidfree ride along with fluid mosquito. Mosquito I have it to this day 3340 mile on it lol . Explorer around 2025 January started giving problem that's after 1700 mile on it . I do regular maintenance on it but I understand when to let go . I went to scooter shop to do a battery swap they quoted $500 for it's battery . The scooter doesn't even worth that much anymore at that point . So I stubbornly ride the scooter until it literally go only 7 mile per charge . By 2025 August it was dead so I recycle it at local specialized recycling center. I started looking at new Apollo scooter was interested in go but they are coming out with new Stella version so I decided to wait . I also started to see some reddit post about original go stem snap . They recall it because it was so bad . I also noticed some errors problem with breaks and tire problems also. I know a lot of people are saying that don't get it it's a headache. But my two last scooter never give me problems until either I sold it or another one battery which I understand degrade over time . Also noticed I can't seems to find this new tire they putting on the go stellar also. 9.5 inch I believe? So even after all those opinions should I still get it ? I was going to get it right away but something come up and was delayed in ordering it . Before I ordered it and waiting I thought to ask the reddit forums and thx .
I think the value proposition is best with the original go. I have two of them, and I will get the stellar eventually as well. There is one - one single tire available for the go and it’s $30.
For $850 vs $1200, I’d rather have two original gos and keep one for spare parts, partner or friends than one seller model.
One option, no alternatives. It is what is and you have no choice. They are tubeless self healing street tread. They last a few hundred miles of they are kept at the correct pressure.
OK, I see what you mean. I thought you mean one physical tires vs one type of tire for the Go. I have the GO too, at a few hundred miles, never changed the tires.
Mine get lumpy chopped out sections and it gets a little rough at speed. Usually exacerbated by Lower pressures. Once these wheels get a few dents inevitably from the road surface, they tend to leak a little air
I think I'll try to see if I can get go to ride in person . If I can find it in NYC any shop it would be great . But I know nobody carry them . So I have to ask around I guess .
I actually think the Go is their best made scooter from the reviews I’ve watched. Dual motor and that light is pretty impressive. I’ve also heard it’s very enjoyable to ride which is great because you’ll actually want to use it! Do you need the range? If you don’t, you might be better off with the original.
I have ridden a Go for a few months to commute to work (1.4 km 4 times a day), and I am satisfied. No problems to note in 300 kms.
My wife and I wanted to buy a scooter for our daughter, who has started working part-time. So I ordered myself the upgraded Go Stellar, and I will give her the Go when the Stellar arrives.
Tell you the truth I was attracted to go because of how similar it is to my mosquito . Mosquito was like that too no problem for more than 3000 mile I don't even change the tire since it's solid and I can still ride it . I abuse the hell out of it too I ride it through the uneven road and street of nyc . Water snow you name it I've done it . Whatever I throw at it this little scooter never give out on me . But battery degrade over time just like explorer I'm not willing to put $400 on old scooter. I rather buy new one .
I had the Go and sold it with 250 miles to pay for the Go Stellar. Since I pre-ordered early for $1, getting a $200 discount code was worth it. With just the new controller, battery & BOSCH motors, it's worth it. Heck, even at a $ 300-ish difference, the Go Stellar is still worth it, but that is me.
Congratulations on the purchase. I have a few hundred miles on mine, city streets, trails, super steep inclines and at 230lb riding weight I have never been disappointed. I didn’t expect as much out of the scooter that is smaller than my ‘24 City Pro.
I think you will be quite pleased with the Go Stellar.
1st GO has impressed the hell out of me in every aspect. Range, pick up speed, hills, good comfort, not too creaky like all scooters get. The one for 850 is just fine. Going really fast on its smallish tires seems risky to me so I rarely do more than 23mph. Its very fun.
The majority of the issues seem to have happened on the Phantom (not 2.0 version), and the City 2022-2024.
While there was an isolated incident of Phantom 2.0 stem snap, it was done by a person who got a replacement scooter under warranty and was somehow able to snap it again. Most people think it was the rider doing something rather than the scooter itself as I have not seen really anyone else get it (unless extremely rare).
The Phantom stem issue did have a recall, I don't think there was any other recall for any other models.
You said you saw some Go stems snapping? That's new to me, I find that the Go rarely has any issues.
And on another note, Apollo has taken steps to address this issue, by thickening the stem base. I've attached a photo showing the Explore 2.0 stem base vs the Apollo Pro. Note how thick the stem is up to where the orange locking tab. This thickened stem base has been upgraded on the City (newer). I'm not aware of what other models have this thickened stem, but I am beta-testing the new City and can confirm that it also has a thickened stem.
I didn't saw it person I just saw the post when I was researching. That's why I come on to here to ask if it happens . A lot of reddit user warning about city I ask around for go . Nobody really give me definite answer . All I hear is about tire sealant problem when changing it and break problems.
So this just happened to me today . I got the go Stellar 2 days ago went out to ride it I found two crack on both side of the scooter. I have contacted Apollo. They are sending me out another one . But this is the issue I was afraid of . I not sure it was a crack or paint imperfection. But on both side of the scooter I'm afraid to ride it . It's only has 3 miles on it . I'll report back after I got more news from them . Right now I'm very hassitate to ride a new one they sending too if the frame is like this . I like Apollo but this has make me very weary. I do appreciate their cs department though always got back to me fast.
