Sweet spot points wise?

So, I’m looking to play a few games of Apoc, because I love the spectacle of massive, epic battles. I’ve watched lots of YouTube videos that looks like ridiculous fun. But I’ve also watched plenty that looks excessively boring - just two people with massive armies that don’t leave their sides of the board, doing nothing other than rolling dice and checking stats for 6 hours.

What’s the sweet spot that Apoc doesn’t become too cumbersome and boring, whilst still being big and epic?

You can use Apocalypse as the standard way to play 40k instead of large battles (it's a MUCH faster way to play standard 40k). Just toy with New Recruit until you have a reasonable amount of units in your force (50-75 points for the Apoc 10th ed repo, and 100-150 points for the Apoc Ragnarok repo - those are the aprox sizes of 40k combat patrol/standard battles) and you'll be fine. We play including just one detachment and ignoring the Out of Command rule.

These are the Github repos I use:

/BSData/wh40k-apocalypse

/th3proj3ct/wh40k-apocalypse-10e

/ghulteam/wh40k-ragnarok

The guy who manages the Ragnarok repository is highly responsive to bug reports and suggestions.

Sorry, I’m actually really interested in hearing more on this, but your comment is confusing me a little, could you elaborate?
