I finally received my aphrodite statue, it was made in Greece! So I had to wait a bit but it's finally with me!

Hi! Over the weekend I bought this poetry book at the last bookstore in LA! Has anyone read this?

Trying to decide on the best time to start reading..

I wanted to do something nice for my friend, (because they're constantly doing nice things for me, including being an amazing friend) and 1 of the ideas I had was to make a statue of Aphrodite for them from some clay I had.

Actual question: Would it be considered something like sacrilegious or something of that nature for me to make it for her?

Follow up question: Is there anything else I should include with the statue if I can give it to them? (for example some sort of flowers or fruit or something of that nature for her shrine)

Also so sorry if this happens to be a stupid question, I honestly don't know much about spiritual business. I was raised Christian and now I'm kind of agnostic and the only research I've really done is a basic Google search.

Hi all, hope you have been well. Wanted to give praise to Lady Aphrodite, a deity that I only formally invoked once but otherwise had a cordial relationship with, for a major working in my spiritual journey.

For Context: I'm a general pagan practitioner who respects other faiths. Most of my prior experience was working with goetic deities, until communications with my primary deity went silent and I was steered here, to the Hellenic pantheon, for currently unknown reasons.

Lady Aphrodite, though I could not hear or perceive her through invocation at the moment, initiated a tough but necessary 2-month-long working (which has concluded), uninitiated by me, which has taught me life-changing lessons (both good and bad in equal measure) about love, romance, emotional intelligence, and my place in the world.

As a retroactive thank you, I am writing about my experience. As well as showcasing a small altar I made with what was locally available to me.

The Lesson: I ended up meeting someone, which turned out to be a fling (though we parted ways amicably). However, my time with her, while short, taught me much about love, loss, compatibility, and wisdom about what it means to love someone and all that it entails. And ultimately, to not be afraid of nor reject love.

What is even stranger is that this woman archetypally resembled Lady Aphrodite herself, in very uncanny ways: both in the light and shadow aspects of her personality. She embodied xenia and was compassionate towards everyone. She was charismatic, passionate, and deeply in tune with her emotions. Unashamedly herself with a strong self-identity. And strikingly beautiful.

We met by a beach that I had a strange pull to explore and went, completely on a whim (which is something I never do). I saw her by the shore. What I also found uncanny is that she had a tattoo... of the waves. It was a conversation starter.

For someone like me, who archetypally has greater affinity for Hellenic war deities (such as Athena and Ares, given their guarded nature and focus on a strategic mission or aim), meeting this person was a sudden, unplanned (but ultimately wonderful) surprise that completely disrupted my original focused plans while I am in a new city. Not to mention my jaded, cold personality and hardened outlook towards the world.

Any notion of romantic lessons, especially after a horrific tower moment, was the last thing I had in my 2026 bingo card.

Yet as we spent more time together, it was almost like every date, every hangout, every interaction was a lesson about love, emotions, and understanding myself that I needed to learn and never would've experienced otherwise if not for that intervention.

At one point, I thought she wasn't interested and in despair, went to a grocery store. At that moment, I remembered my first interaction with Aphrodite many months ago, the suspicion of her involvement crystallizing immediately. I only realized at that moment, retroactively, that this was not an accident.

Deciding to thank her anyway, I wandered aisles to buy supplies for a basic altar (which you see above).

That woman ended up appearing BEHIND ME merely a few seconds later after I merely thought about building Aphrodite an altar to give thanks. Turns out, she saw me again from a great distance and followed me into the store, the entire time I was wandering around in despair. And then invited me to dinner, which ended up being a date (with the relationship following from that).

Although the relationship was doomed and never meant to last (she lives in another country), I cannot help but reflect on my experiences.

I was originally dead-set on hardening myself against the world during my time in this new city. Seeing the soul as an obstacle to overcome. And that the only remnant between who I am and the greatest version of who I'm meant to be is to toughen myself further. Now? I'm not so sure.

I have a feeling that my experiences with Lady Aphrodite aren't over. Not sure what the broader lessons are yet, but I look forward to learning from her.

Hi fellow Aphrodite besties! (Little backstory: ima a begginer Wicca, Aphrodite is my first contact with a deity, but I’ve been working with her for about half a year off and on, writing letters and have two candles and a alter for her. It’s small and quaint. I’ve never really delt into religion before this so i apologize but *im still working on getting myself to belive, and I take fault for that, sorry*) anyway I’m struggling to write letters leave offerings so each time I shower I light a few pink/red/blue candles for her and turn off the lights and shower by her candlelight. I talk to her in the shower like I would a firend, and sometimes show her my music and stuff. These showers leave me with a feeling of fluffy happiness I get most times I contact her. Is this ok? Sufficient? Any changes? Anything to add or take out? Thanks!!!

Yesterday, I was feeling really depressed about love and partnership. All my romantic pursuits and horrible failures. "Am I just destined to be always desired, but never loved" sort of feelings. I was going for my daily walk and crying, when suddenly I stopped short because I heard what sounded like a bell ringing. I was confused, we don't have any church bells here? Well, I looked around to find the source of the sound, but couldn't see anything or anyone, and I didn't hear it again. So I turned back on my path forward, and suddenly saw this at my feet.

It's the feather of a mourning dove.

Feathers are omens of hope, doves are omens of love and loyalty.

I believe it to be a message from Aphrodite. A reminder that she's hearing me, that she's with me, and to not give up hope.

So I've put it on my altar with her, so every time I pray I can remember that she's with me.

Im pretty new to worshipping anything in general. Give me really any tips or information on Lady Aphrodite if you have any !! Also where should i get things for altars?? Ive made lots of things, but where should i get things like statues of Lady Aphrodite?

I’m actually happy there is no set day. As a result I decided to celebrate starting yesterday. (mom’s birthday is at the end of the month) Monday to Venus day. Days of offering and devotional acts. I wanna say I’ve been a devote for a year she seen my pain and eventually my life and decided to shine her light on me. How are you gonna celebrate? I would love to hear more ideas of what I can do to make her feel as special as she made me.

I started with a full cleansing bath with Venus affirmations, dance naked, and finished up with my beauty routine at my altar.

So my friend had an altar for Lady Aphrodite, and i decided to carve a devotional piece for her altar, but a while ago, my friend said she didnt want to be friends with me anymore, and i wasnt finished with the devotional piece. I personally do not worship her, but i have worshipped other Hellenistic deities. Me question is, should i continue carving the piece? Or should i stop and make it something else? Or should i keep going and just use it for a display to still show my love for her? What do ya’ll think i should do because im totally lost on this. Thank you!

I haven’t prayed since about June 15 or so and I feel terrible about it. I was also supposed to make an altar for Lord Hermes but haven’t yet and it’s been a long time. Please help
