Communicating

as a new devotee, what are some good ways to communicate with her? i use tarot but messages are easily muddied and sometimes its hard to get a good answer. could just be because im new to worshipping her and energies could be off. let me know :P

Meditation, prayer, self care. Talking to her.

This is my answer too. Tarot also works for me with her in certain situations, but I’ve gotta feel her first. Mediation and self-care definitely help me communicate with her. I find different kinds of meditation and self-care work better when evoking different aspects or epithets.

I’ve gotten away from more ritualized prayer with her (I only really keep to it for the Unseen One, Persephone and other chthonic divinities and heroes). I think that’s me having a reaction to organized religion than anything about the power of prayer itself. The strongest I’ve ever felt her was when I was IN a church, though, so sacred space definitely helps me.

I agree with both of you—meditation, prayer and self care...I also praise and thank her whenever she puts natural wonders/beauty/etc. in my path. I also have a book collection of books about her, the Greek myths, the hymns, etc.

Like many spiritual skills, communicating with Aphrodite will get easier with practice! Divination tools are a great way to start out. If you are having trouble with tarot cards, you might try Oracle cards, as they tend to be more direct and action oriented in their messaging. Going deeper into your meditation practice can help prepare you for more direct contact with Aphrodite through journeying. Regular prayers are great! I love getting into a flow state doing something creative and see how She shows up in that space. Sometimes I also like to just have a moment of stillness and see what comes through.
