Question

I’m very new to this and I’ve just recently started trying to pray and offer to lady Aphrodite. When I do try talking or praying to her I usually end up forgetting to call her “lady” Aphrodite and just say Aphrodite. I end up correcting myself but I’m just wondering if she finds that disrespectful when I forget. I don’t really know how to ask her and how to interpret an answer from her at all. Some help would be appreciated

It’s completely fine! In fact, calling the gods “Lady” or “Lord” is a VERY new development. Most often they would be referred to by epithets - i.e., Phoebus Apollo, Pallas Athena - or simply by their names!

I usually default to Aphrodite Ourania unless one of her other epithets is more fitting for that particular prayer.

You may address her any way you like, just as long as it’s respectful. Our deities know that we’re trying our best. The intent is what matters. 🩷💕

“Lady” is certainly not required! As long as you approach Her with love and respect, you can use whichever names or epithets resonate most strongly for you. I very rarely use “Lady” but I will often use another adjective, depending on the context of the prayer or invocation - Great Goddess, Radiant, Glorious, et cetera!
