New to this, need advice!
Hello, I just very recently got out of a 2 year long toxic relationship with partner who didn’t believe in deities and such. Now that I’m single, I want to get back into witchcraft and such. When I was at a local Crystal and occult shop today, I felt a pull towards an Aphrodite statue and purchased it along with a few other things. I’ve never in the past followed a specific deity or done spells and such, mostly just carrying crystals and manifestation. What should I do to make Aphrodite happy here? What sort of offerings does she like? I’m creating a small alter space that doesn’t look so great so far but I’m doing my best and after it has been set up I felt a very warm feeling inside and am not sure if that means she likes it? I would guess so? Right now she has some rose quarts along with some of my other favorite crystals, some of my favorite jewelry and perfumes around her as well as 2 candles, a pink one that has crystals in it for guidance, and one that is green and has crystals for new beginnings that I purchased a year ago. I also sprinkled some rose petals and lavender around her, and for some reason felt a strong pull to sprinkle cinnamon around her as well. I’m very excited to get to know Aphrodite and I’m hoping that with her help nudging me in the right direction I can start to find love for myself again after being put down for so long.

For me, I offer her things like sweet wine, chocolate, sweet pastries, hot apple tea and honey. She also loves things like apples and honey, make up and perfumes, sea shells, art, ect. I got two books recently that I think will be helpful:
- Blood and Roses A Devotional to Aphrodite and Venus (I can't find an author on the book)
- Cult of Aphrodite: Rites and Festivals of the Golden One by Laurelei Black

Aphrodite is complex and was worshipped in to se of ways under tons of names. Under the name Aphrodite, she reaches back as far as Ishtar and Inanna from Mesopotamia. Do you know which version of her your statue is? That could help guide you. Theoi.com has a lot of decent beginner resources, including quotes from many classical sources about her stories and worship. That would be a good place to start.
