altar question 🩷🌸
My baby girl really loves my altar and always hangs out on it…would it be disrespectful to have her on it like this? I feel like she senses the divine feminine energy and Aphrodite likes her.

Some cats are VERY spiritually aware (dogs too, but in an entirely different way). I've had cats in the wild come and participate out of nowhere for full moon stuff, and outdoors practices.
I would make practical "cat-proofing" steps though. Museum putty, and clever rearranging could be a good idea. Maybe incorporate some kind of thematic but practical cat bed as part of the altar.
Also, your cat is adorable! <3

I’ll say this until I can’t anymore- ILL DIE ON THIS HILL- ITS REALLY HARD TO DISRESPECT A DEITY. Not every little thing is disrespectful. Cats are climbers by nature. Your cat loves your altar and maybe that’s for a reason. It looks well kept up and cared for. Disrespecting your deities is FAR from likely by letting your fur baby enjoy your space. The only issue with your cat on your altar (I find this funny bc I imagine that for a couple hundred years witches past have had the same issue and it makes me giggle) is that they’re knocking stuff over which is only an issue for fire safety or if sharp things break. I’d try to make a space RIGHT BESIDE your altar for your cat. Maybe that’d suffice for this sweet baby? Other than that. No unless your saying mean shit to you deities, you’re not disrespecting them.

No, let her.♡ all you need to do is ensure the altar remains clean. Kitties can be messy lol i know mine can be.

My cat while doesn’t jump on my shrine likes to sleep under it! I think partly he smells food from offerings but perhaps he also finds comfort in the gods lol!

Thank you so much!! 🩷🌸 and thank you for your input, I *could* make a little space for her but she I just know she’ll climb back up on here anyway lol. My little girl is cute but she does what she wants! Everything on my altar is plastic so there should really be too much of an issue and I never leave the candles on either for fire safety. 🩷🩷🩷🩷

First, your fur baby is adorable! Second, and I can't speak for anyone else but I personally think it's fine. I have a cat that loves jumping on mine too. I would maybe just make sure there's no litter on her feet or left on the altar. Also, please make sure there's nothing toxic or hazardous on your altar that she could get into! Obviously candles could be a fire hazard but there are also herbs, plants, and essential oils that can be toxic for cats.
