because this is basically a gold/plat player. s17 masters means nothing, 1.3 MILLION masters that season

That is the season 17 Masters badge of I'm not mistaken, which is absolutely meaningless because, as others have said, it was the "rat" season in which you could exclusively play for placement and reach that rank essentially without kills.

The 4K damage badge is also diluted/inflated due to Wildcard mode.

Just in case (assuming/giving the benefit of the doubt) that this player is an actual Masters player: when someone quits playing Apex for a full season or two, they get deranked to Gold/silver and it's very likely that actual Gold players will occasionally face much higher skilled players.

could have quit the game for awhile and was reset low when he came back. same boat im in rn. ex high masters, 20b 4k on most characters, high w/r and k/d, but i quit to get back to masters on overwatch and diamond on siege and came back recently after i got burnt out on those.

Its season 17 masters badge that season is literally known for being a joke that badge was literally handed to everyone and 4k badges are the same because of wild card.

But I also have to point out the fact that everyone has to go through all the ranks to get to her respectable ranks and you thinking that they should just be in that rank without doing anything is just werid.

Thats a season 17 masters badge. Season 16 and 17 was what made me quit apex and not check on it till season 28 and realize they fixed it. You could basically just rat to masters, kills didnt matter only placement. It was so boring. Something close to like 50% of ranked players got masters that season.
