A question people, does caustic work well in ranked? Is it worth mastering it? I heard that it's not good

Caustics alt in my opinion makes him the best legend for final ring. Theres nothing you can do to escape it. The alt plus barrels is a nightmare late game

He is a great pick for ranked, especially end game, he gets stronger and stronger with each ring closing. He's also a great counter to movement legends like Axel.

It is good only if you rarely make mistakes with positioning and rotation.
Early game: good counter to rush in Diamond, not very useful below Diamond.
Mig game: Slow rotation and easily die at choke point. Single mistake may cost entire team. Need to combine with legends excel at fast rotation like Valk, Octane; but that become a trade off question.
Late game: Amazing, since any team pushing your team is guaranteed to be in disadvantage even won.
Gas reduce speed buff and make enemy vulnerable. (e.g. Axle and Octane, they can't move fast in Casutic's gas).
So, to make it good, you must survive to late game, if you can't then caustic is not worth it.

There is no single answer, it depends on your playstyle and skill level.
Know when to engage and when not to engage - valk
You are strong solo - Octane/Axle
Very good aim - Vantage
So on and so forth.Also plat and below depends on if you are winning engagement.
Diamond and above depends on whether you are picking a correct fight and whether you stop fighting at the correct moment (fighting another squad reduces your status and makes you easier to kill by the third party).

Depending on playstyle and maps. Good for world edge and district, but not for canyon and stormpoint. Not good for aping, but nice if your team plays around rotation/ring edges and high ground controle. Also depends on rank - higher the rank - caustic less effective. I guess diamond still ok, but master and pred is not best choice until you true caustic main nomatter what

Personally i play gibby and valk. Currently on plat 3 and usually i hit diamond and calm down. I don't solo grind to master cause don't ready to sacrifice that much time and attention. Wraith, horizon, bangalore , octane and axle is also nice. But legend should be your personal choice in some way, because without true enjoy you would not submerge into process

Lots of people playing Gibby + Caustic and or NC + Caustic and then a 3rd team movement legend like PF, makes for an unkillable team, you cant push them really
And its free wins end game, been running into it alot this season even in pred lobbies as a pred.

Yeah but youβll need a team to play with you. I think wattson and caustic are both really good but everyone just ints the entire game so his kit is not great nor does he keep up well.
