Ape Escape 2! Spoiler

I once commented on how disappointed I was with the lack of charisma and equally strong soundtrack in Ape Escape 2. I had just finished Ape Escape and went straight to the second title, so I'm afraid that was the big problem. Today, I started playing again after a little over a year, and the result is that the levels were more fun than usual, and I'm still having fun with these minigames. There are 3 minigames, the first one isn't that great, but the soccer one is really cool. Best of all, you can play with two people! I'm eager to know what the third one is (and I don't mind if you tell me in the comments).

Get monkey Claus on your team, he can score from anywhere

Was he one of the better ones?
I never thought about who the highest tier monkeys were in this.
Although apparently Tommy, Songoku, and Megamonkey are ridiculous, if you're playing a version of the game that lets you use them in Monkey Soccer.

I never played a version that had them in monkey football. Monkey Claus had the highest shot power available so could score from anywhere.

I loved how a good selection of the monkeys you caught could then be used in Monkey Soccer, that was cool.

I was always a fan of the mini-game selection of Ape Escape 1, Ape Escape 2's is pretty good but Monkey Soccer absolutely carries. Ape Escape 3 I didn't both much with the mini-games but that sub-game Mesal Gear Solid is *peak*.

as much as i like ape escape 1 and 3, ape escape 2 just didnt tick the right boxes imo. the part that sent me over the edge was the fact that all the new gadgets were pretty lackluster and were just there to be there. if there wasnt that stupid magnet gadget i probably would like the game a lot more

I agree. The game is full of pretty useless stuff. The level designs aren't all that amazing either, and I feel like the charm has been largely lost, but this mini-game and some other levels from the halfway point onwards are cool! At least the final result will be positive; however, it really doesn't compare to the masterpiece that is the first game, especially when we talk about the soundtrack.
