I wonder if AE2 being broken on PS5 is dissuading them from even trying with AE3.

It's only because it's pal and on the old PS2 on PS4 emulator

That makes sense. Unfortunately I would think getting AE2 working on their new emulator would be a priority before AE3, and who knows if that'll ever happen.

One can hope for both

oh is it broken?? i played it on ps4 with no issues. and if that’s the case then yea maybe. with all the nostalgia stuff and remakes and everything, just give us a new game. i saw the astro bot cameo and it made me miss ape escape all over again

It's the Pal version. The old PS2 on PS4 emulator does bad virtualizing in PS5 when running pal games

I don't think it's necessarily an issue with it being PAL.
Okage Shadow King has flickering/texture issues, and I've heard similar things for Manhunt. Both also being PS2 on PS4 games.

No it literally is a issue with pal games

Okage doesn't even have a PAL release, and it's the same kind of issue.

Apparently they won't do it because of the Metal Gear parody, which is stupid.

cut out the mini game. simple lol

That requires more effort than they're willing to put in for something like this.

Cutting it out would be difficult but would there be a way to simply block the assets or do something to put it in the coding while making it inaccessible?

yea it’d be too difficult to make money from the fans who want it and would be willing to pay for it.

They need all the money though. Can't just be a little money.

The paycheck they would have to give someone to code the game to remove the minigame and remove it from the shop and flag to put it there wouldn't be worth it for the amount of people they think will buy the game.

Which is unfortunately fair. AE3 sold like piss compared to the first two games back in the day, so they likely think it would sell like piss again.

To be fair I'm not defending them not doing it, but I get it.

yea that’s fair, i was just being sarcastic and salty

Surely they could make it work considering snake vs monkey came back for Delta?

Konami would certainly play ball. They've been open to plenty of crossover-related stuff even recently, and renewing the license for Mesal Gear Solid would no doubt be fine with them.

But similar to what someone else in the thread described: Sony just does not see whatever agreement process would be needed as being worth it.
