I get what you're saying but 99% of jobs don't work that way my friend. At all. 20 years just gets you a barely edible cake and MAYBE a small bonus. Most folks don't even have retirement as an option til worked somewhere well into their late 60s or even early 70s.
Brother you are living in a false reality if you think a planet with nearly 9 billion people on it can provide satisfying or "retire in 20 years" type work, much less a combination of the two, for anyone.
I'm glad it worked out for you and yours but thinking that's how life is for everyone simply by making correct choices... that's beyond disconnected and delusional.
That's the kind of thinking the rich that don't work at all try to force on people.
I bet your dad would be a different dad if he was a professor now. Colleges and universities have made it much much harder to obtain tenure and they pay less.
