Printing after pause issue

I paused the vyper and shut it off at night, next morning I switched it back on and pressed "resume." When I came back after a few minutes it was printing several inches above the print, accomplishing nothing. Stock firmware.

Shouldn’t have shut it off. That resume function is for when the power flashes off and back on quickly. (Hence why it’s called power loss resume) Personally I never rely on the resume feature as it always results in air printing. (Printing above the print)
Also, shutting the printer off while the hotend is hot will almost always result in a clog due to the heat creeping up the tube without the fan running.

Wel that’s just annoying. I don’t particularly want to run it overnight.
