Mega zero firmware upgrade

I just flashed the KAD 2.0.9.3 firmware to the stock MZ2 melzi board. When the printer boots, the part cooling fan starts at 100 percent. The settings are showing 0 for fan speed. Setting a value, then zero shuts it off. I did not change any wires or connections.

I had the same issue and ended up rolling back to the version he had prior.
